A project to build a large dairy farm designed to house around 1,400 dairy cows is being prepared for implementation in Volyn Region. The project will be carried out in the village of Voiutyn, Torchyn community, Lutsk district, by local agricultural enterprise Druzhba.
This was reported on the website of the Lutsk District State Administration.
According to the project documentation, the new livestock complex will focus on milk production and the reproduction of the dairy herd. The farm is expected to introduce loose housing technology with individual resting boxes for animals, in line with modern approaches in dairy farming.
The complex will include a number of production and auxiliary facilities. In particular, the project provides for the construction of an 84-place veterinary hospital for animal treatment and the housing of cows after calving. The farm is expected to create 66 jobs.
Construction is planned on a 24.06-hectare land plot leased by Druzhba. In 2024, the company received permission from the Torchyn Settlement Council to develop a detailed territory plan for the project. The site is located next to the company’s existing facilities, including its farmyard and elevator infrastructure.
Agricultural private enterprise Druzhba has been operating for more than 28 years and is one of the notable agricultural producers in the region. The company is owned and headed by Valentyna Zdryliuk.
The enterprise cultivates more than 3,600 hectares of agricultural land in Lutsk and Horokhiv districts of Volyn Region. Its main crop production areas include wheat, corn, sunflower, soybeans, rapeseed, sugar beet, barley, oats, peas and buckwheat.
In addition to crop production, the company is actively developing its livestock segment. Across its production sites, Druzhba already keeps up to 2,000 head of dairy and beef cattle. The company also owns its own grain elevator, which is used both for storing its own harvest and for providing services to other agricultural producers.
Implementation of the new project will allow the company to increase its milk production capacity and expand its livestock business amid sustained demand for dairy products in Ukraine.
