Ukrainian company ABM-TRADE is investing €8.5 million in the construction of a soybean processing plant in the Volyn region. The facility, with a processing capacity of around 190 tonnes of soybeans per day, is scheduled to be commissioned in November 2026. The new plant will allow the company to expand its feed product range, increase sales in Ukraine and enter new export markets.
The project was announced by Roman Ogrodnichyi, Head of ABM-TRADE. According to him, the facility will be capable of processing around 8 tonnes of soybeans per hour in continuous operation.
The plant is expected to produce two main types of products. The first will be roasted soybeans for pigs and poultry, while the second will be a soybean-based product with a high content of protected protein for cattle. The soybeans will undergo several processing stages, including cleaning, drying, heat treatment and cooling.
The launch of the new production facility is intended to complement ABM-TRADE’s existing business. The company currently has production capacity of up to 350 tonnes of premixes, compound feed and feed additives per day.
ABM-TRADE expects the expansion to enable the company not only to broaden its product range but also to reduce the production cost of some of its existing products. The company will be able to use roasted soybeans in its own feed and protein concentrates while simultaneously expanding its sales geography and customer base.
Six silos manufactured by Lubnymash will be installed at the new complex for storing raw materials and finished products. Each silo will have a capacity of 493 cubic metres, bringing total storage capacity to 2,958 cubic metres. The total area of the production complex will be approximately 4,000 square metres.
One of the key components of the facility will be a grain dryer produced by US company Sukup. The plant will be equipped with a two-module Sukup TC1652 model. Its capacity will reach 24.6 tonnes per hour when reducing grain moisture from 25% to 20%, and 15.5 tonnes per hour when reducing moisture from 25% to 15%.
The dryer is equipped with a heat recovery system designed to improve energy efficiency. Its configuration also allows for the future installation of a third module to increase processing capacity.
ABM-TRADE is purchasing the soybean processing equipment directly from US partners. Construction of the production complex is being carried out by LLENTAB Ukraine.
The plant plans to source soybeans from Ukrainian farms. Part of the processed soybeans will be used in ABM-TRADE’s own production of feed and protein concentrates, while the remaining output is intended for sale to Ukrainian livestock farms and for export.
According to Roman Ogrodnichyi, the company has already reached preliminary agreements with potential buyers in the European Union, Moldova and Asia. Potential customers in several African countries have also expressed interest in the products.
