Ukrainian investment group BGV Group Management, associated with Gennadiy Butkevych, co-owner of the ATB supermarket chain, and the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund are launching an investment platform focused on critical minerals projects in Ukraine. The initiative aims to attract capital for mineral deposit development and mining projects that are important to the industrial and technology sectors.
In its initial phase, the platform could facilitate investments of up to $30 million in selected projects. Priority areas include rare earth elements, beryllium, and zirconium. These resources are used in the production of high-tech products, electronics, energy equipment, and other industrial applications.
BGV Group Management is developing several business areas related to critical minerals and has already invested more than $125 million in mining projects. Cooperation with the U.S.-Ukraine fund will enable the combination of private capital and international investment support mechanisms to further develop the sector.
The U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund was established on April 30, 2025. Its initial capital amounts to $150 million, with Ukraine and the United States each contributing $75 million. The fund focuses on supporting projects capable of attracting investment and contributing to Ukraine's economic development.
The launch of the platform establishes an additional financing mechanism for Ukrainian critical minerals projects. However, the announced amount of up to $30 million refers to potential investments in selected projects during the initial phase, rather than guaranteed funding for all initiatives.
