Aurora, Chervoniy Market and Oneprice actively invest and expand during the war

Large flows of migrants and the loss of income by Ukrainians accelerated the development of the industry of budget stores in the “one dollar store” format, among them Aurora, Chervoniy Market, ...

Few of the top players in Ukrainian retail managed to at least maintain pre-war figures, but a completely opposite trend is observed in the segment of budget stores of the one dollar store format.

The loss of income and the uncertainty brought about by the war made consumers more rational, brands became less important. Especially for people who moved away from the zone of active hostilities.

The network of budget stores "Aurora" more than doubled during the war year, it opened from scratch or restored 125 stores, their total number reached 880. The revenue of the "Aurora" network more than doubled: from UAH 5.8 billion to 13, UAH 9 billion

The network "Chervoniy Market" has increased from 107 to 170 stores. By the beginning of the war, the Oneprice chain had 55 stores, now it has 77. The Kopeechka chain opened two stores, now it has 310 outlets.

Some Ukrainian networks have plans to enter the markets of European countries and, first of all, Romania.

Recall that in 2021, the Horizon Capital fund invested in the Aurora network. The size of the share is not disclosed, but Horizon usually buys up to 20% of the shares.

InVenture represents the interests of one of the chain of budget stores of the one dollar store format in terms of attracting a strategic investor for active expansion.
