Biosphere stops production of diapers Pampik and switches to tea and electricity

Biosphere, a large Ukrainian manufacturer of household goods, has sold its diaper production facilities and is investing €1 million in a 1.5 MW gas turbine plant

Andrii Zdesenko, president of the Biosphere Corporation, announced the sale of the diaper production line due to forecasts of a decline in the birth rate. According to him, this line was purchased by a partner company from Ternopil. In the future, "Biosphere" will remain a distributor of goods for children, but not a manufacturer of diapers.

Meanwhile, Biosphere Corporation will focus on tea production. At the beginning of 2024, the corporation introduced tea under the Graff brand to the Ukrainian market and plans to further develop in this direction.

"Now the tea market in Ukraine is at the level of UAH 7 billion. I think it will decrease to UAH 6-6.5 billion. Our goal is 20% of the market in three years. By the end of the year, our target is 5% of the market," he said Andrii ZDESENKO.

In addition, the Biosphere Corporation plans to invest €1 million in the purchase of a 1.5 MW gas turbine installation that will provide the corporation's Ukrainian enterprises with electricity.

Now "Biosphere" already has its own solar energy systems (SES) in Western Ukraine and plans to install new ones for production in Dnipro and Fastov in the future.

"Biosphere", founded in 1997, produces kitchen and cleaning products, as well as hygiene products at three plants in Ukraine and one in Estonia. The most famous brands are "Freken BOK", Smile, Selpak, Vortex, Bambik and others. The monthly production volume is 8.5 million garbage bags, 10 million wet wipes, 4 million sponges and 1.4 million cotton buds.

The company's capabilities are represented by four factories in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi regions, open production in Ternopil and logistics complexes with an area of ​​30,000 square meters. m.

Together with the French Groupe Lemoine, "Biosphere" also owns a factory in Estonia for the production of cotton products. In 2022, the company acquired the Austrian brand Alufix.
