The Ukrainian government plans to transfer in addition to Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi railway station, Kharkiv railway station, the stations of Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Mykolaiv and Chop to the concession for a period of 20 years.
According to the data presented in "Investment Atlas", the Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station serves 23.5 million passengers annually, its total area is 407 thousand sq.m., total rental area is 236 thousand sq.m.
5.7 million passengers are served at Kharkiv Station annually; its total area is 2410 sq.m., 1.6 million passengers – at Khmelnytskyi station (the total area is 8700 sq.m.). 1.3 million passengers are served at the railway station of Vinnytsia annually (the total area is 6071 sq.m.), Dnipro (9802 sq.m.) and Mykolaiv (7400 sq.m.) stations serve 1.2 million passengers each, Chop station (7100 sq.m.) serves 0.08 million passengers annually.
"Ukrzaliznytsya" (UZ, Kyiv) JSC plans to grant the first stations to concession at the end of 2020 – the beginning of 2021.
According to Yevhen Kravtsov, who previously held the post of head of the UZ, on one hand, this will help to attract private investment for the reconstruction of the station infrastructure, and on the other hand, the railway will have partners who will help to develop effective asset management processes.
According to the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy, along with other investors, the investment company Emaar Properties (UAE), which has built the world's tallest skyscraper, Burj Khalifa, is interested in the concession of the central Kyiv railway station.
