DTEK plans to invest in a new large 500 MW wind farm in Ukraine, Vinnytsia region

One of Ukraine's largest energy holdings is considering the possibility of building a new 500 MW wind power plant in the Vinnytsia region

Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK Group is studying the possibility of building a large wind power plant in the Vinnytsia region. This was reported by DTEK Renewables CEO Oleksandr Selishchev.

"We are planning the next project in the south of the Vinnytsia region. This is still an early stage, we are still making certain calculations, but we are already measuring the wind. Preliminary calculations show that we can install a station with a capacity of 500 MW. We will make a final decision after confirming the calculations of the system operator," he said. he.

DTEK is currently implementing two large wind power projects: the Tiligul wind farm with almost 500 MW and the Poltava wind farm with 650 MW.

"The immediate plan is to complete the construction of the Tiligul station. This is another 64 wind turbines, 384 MW. In total, there will be 498 MW, a large station," Selishchev said.

"The Poltava wind farm project. We have already crossed the development equator, and this will be the next project after the Tiligul station with a capacity of 650 MW - an even larger station. This is a very important region for Ukraine in terms of building a new generation, because it is a region with a deficit, this is the Left Bank," he said. he.

Recall that in May 2023, DTEK Renewables launched the first stage of the Tiligul wind farm in the Nikolaev region with a capacity of 114 MW. The design capacity of the wind farm is 500 MW, so it will still be completed. Four more stations - the first and second Primorskaya, Botievskaya and Orlovskaya - remained in the occupied territory.
