European Investment Bank to provide EUR 400mln for Ukraine

The facility is aiming at support of SME in the country

MinFin has signed agreements with two domestic banks to becoming the first chosen banks of the credit facility from the EIB. The designated banks are Megabank and Ukrgazbank. The funds will be channeled into financing the needs of domestic SMEs. The facility matures in five years with an option to prolongation from the EIB. Ukraine plans not only to help SME with the money but also to implement projects of socio-economic infrastructure including energy efficiency and adaptation to the climate change. According to the frame agreement, the EIB, MinFin and Ukreximbank will provide funds for the designated banks for crediting domestic enterprises.

MinFin, in its turn, expects that the loans from the designated banks will fuel domestic SME for entering the EU market.
