IFC will finance the construction of a 150 MW wind farm by the Galneftegaz concern

Construction of a 150 MW wind farm is planned to begin in the Volyn region in 2024

World Bank Group (IFC) and the Galneftegaz concern (OKKO filling station network) signed a mandate letter at URC-24 to finance the construction of a 150 MW wind farm, said Vice President Alfonso Garcia Mora.

“The energy sector is one of the most important sectors in Ukraine. We signed a mandate letter between IFC and Galneftegaz to finance a 150 MW wind project,” he wrote on the X network.

As reported, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and OKKO at the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Berlin URC-24 entered into a loan agreement in the amount of 60 million euros for the construction of a new bioethanol production plant in Ukraine.

The plans of the largest fuel company in Ukraine to build a wind farm with a capacity of 150 MW in the Volyn region became known at the end of 2023. Also, the head of OKKO Vasily Danilyak said that the company acquired an energy storage project with a capacity of 20 MW.

The implementation of the project will allow OKKO to become one of the top three leaders in Ukrainian wind energy, if we count only stations in the controlled territory of Ukraine.
