The plant of industrial and construction group Kovalska, located in the village of Rozvadiv in Lviv region, has started operations and produced its first commercial batch of autoclaved aerated concrete. This marks the actual launch of the company’s new production line following the completion of the key construction phase and equipment commissioning. Total initial investment in the project exceeded €50 million.
The products will be sold both on the domestic Ukrainian market and abroad under the new Gazobeto brand. At the initial stage, the plant produces basic product types — wall blocks and U-blocks used for the construction of load-bearing structures and internal partitions. The company plans to expand its product range in the future by adding wall and floor panels, as well as lintels, which will allow it to cover a broader segment of construction solutions.
The production capacity of the first phase is around 600,000 cubic meters of aerated concrete per year. After the second phase of the project is implemented, total annual output is expected to exceed 1.2 million cubic meters, significantly strengthening the company’s position in the building materials market.
At the first stage, supplies will focus on Ukraine’s western regions — Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Rivne, Volyn, and Zakarpattia regions. In parallel, the company is already working on signing contracts with dealers and building an efficient logistics network. The export direction is also being developed, with Kovalska planning to supply products to neighboring countries.
Construction of the plant in Rozvadiv began in 2023. The project became a strategic step after the company lost its enterprise in occupied Nova Kakhovka. Thus, the launch of the new plant partially compensates for the lost production capacity.
The project was financed with the participation of international partners. In particular, the Dutch Good Growth Fund, through an agreement with Invest International, provided the company with a €27 million loan for the purchase of Aircrete equipment around a year ago.
