In 2025, McDonald’s continued its large-scale expansion in Ukraine, opening 12 new restaurants and modernizing five more locations. Against the backdrop of network growth, revenue of McDonald’s Ukraine Ltd. reached UAH 21.3 billion, up 26.6% compared to the previous year.
One of the key signals for the investment market was that the company is not only restoring operations during wartime, but is also systematically increasing capital investment. Over 2022–2025, McDonald’s invested UAH 4.84 billion in the development and modernization of its network in Ukraine. In recent years alone, the company has opened 33 new restaurants, expanding its network by more than 25%.
In 2025, McDonald’s entered the Zakarpattia region for the first time, opening restaurants in Uzhhorod and Mukachevo. New locations also opened in Hatne in the Kyiv region and in Lypyny near Lutsk. In Lviv, the company launched its first restaurant built under a sustainable design concept, reflecting its focus on energy efficiency and modern construction standards.
As of now, McDonald’s network in Ukraine includes 138 restaurants, of which 123 are operating across 42 localities. The company also continues to invest in the operational resilience of the business: more than 95% of restaurants are equipped with generators, allowing operations to continue even during power outages.
Digital investment has also become a separate growth driver. In 2025, 85% of dine-in orders were placed through self-order kiosks, while the number of mobile app users increased by 44.5%. The new Mobile Order feature generated more than 100,000 orders in just its first two months, confirming the effectiveness of the chain’s digital transformation.
The growth in operating performance was also accompanied by stronger consumer activity: the number of McDonald’s customers in Ukraine increased by 17% in 2025, while the customer satisfaction rate rose to 98.3%, compared to 96.7% a year earlier.
The company’s fiscal impact is also significant. In 2025, McDonald’s paid UAH 3.5 billion in taxes to the Ukrainian state budget, and in 2026 it provides employment to nearly 11,000 people. At the same time, the company continues to implement ESG approaches: in 2025, more than 2,700 tonnes of waste were sent for recycling, while plastic use continued to decline.
McDonald’s has operated in Ukraine since 1997. After the start of the full-scale war, the company temporarily closed part of its restaurants, but from autumn 2022 it began gradually restoring operations and resumed expansion. In 2026, the chain has already opened two more new restaurants — in Irpin and Kyiv — and Bukovel may become its next expansion point.
