OKKO Group continues the implementation of one of Ukraine’s largest tourism investment projects. The developer of GORO Mountain Resort, which is being built in the Slavske community of Lviv region, has signed a contract with Austria’s Doppelmayr Group for the supply and installation of a gondola lift for the first phase of the complex.

The cost of the gondola lift project will amount to €20 million, while the total investment in the lift system for the first phase will reach €47 million. The launch of the new infrastructure is scheduled for 2027.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Austrian company will build a 2.8 km gondola lift, as well as two wind-protected chairlifts, each 1.5 km long. Negotiations between the parties had been ongoing since 2020, when the project team was selecting technological solutions for the future resort.

The gondola lift will connect the lower and upper stations of the complex with a vertical rise of more than 500 meters. The ascent time will be about 9 minutes, and capacity will reach 2,800 passengers per hour. The cabins will accommodate 10 people and will be equipped with panoramic windows and a natural ventilation system.

OKKO says the infrastructure will be used year-round. In addition to serving the ski segment in winter, the lift will become part of the tourist infrastructure for hiking routes, cycling tourism, panoramic rides, and access to scenic locations throughout the year. The design also includes solutions for integrating the facilities into the natural environment and minimizing the impact on the landscape.

GORO Mountain Resort is an all-season mountain resort whose construction began in October 2024. The first phase of the project covers an area of 127 hectares and provides for the development of 10 ski slopes with a 100% artificial snowmaking system, one gondola lift and two chairlifts, as well as the Welcome Center and Mountain Center service hubs.

Following the launch of the first phase, the resort will be able to accommodate up to 5,000 skiers at the same time, while annual visitor traffic, according to investor estimates, will reach 1 million people.

The owner, investor, and developer of the project is Vitalii Antonov’s OKKO Group. Construction and the attraction of private capital into the hotel infrastructure are managed by Goro Development, which is part of the group. Total investment in the creation of the resort is estimated at $1.5 billion, making the project one of the largest private investments in Ukraine’s tourism sector.

The development of GORO Mountain Resort is also linked to the modernization of the region’s existing tourism infrastructure. In March 2026, the company announced the start of replacing the old lift with Ukraine’s first gondola lift, in connection with which the Zakhar Berkut resort, operated by OKKO Group since 2022, ceased operations in its previous format. Previously, the complex welcomed hundreds of thousands of tourists annually and is one of the best-known ski destinations in Lviv region.
