U.S.-based investment fund Pravo Ventures, which focuses on the Ukrainian market, has invested in Ukrainian-American Defense Tech company Auron Solutions, a developer of electronic warfare technologies powered by artificial intelligence. The amount invested and the total size of the funding round have not been disclosed.
Pravo Ventures announced the deal in a statement. The fund participated in the round alongside other investors, including Chevron Technology Ventures, the venture capital arm of U.S. energy company Chevron.
Pravo Ventures said the investment is aligned with the fund’s strategy of identifying and financing technological solutions capable of addressing existing gaps in defense capabilities. The fund believes that many such technologies have been shaped by practical experience from the war in Ukraine and may subsequently be of interest to the United States and its allies.
Auron Solutions’ core focus is electronic warfare systems designed primarily to counter unmanned aerial vehicles. The company develops AI-based solutions that can detect and classify drones, as well as interfere with their control channels.
Unlike traditional electronic warfare systems, which may generate broadband interference and suppress a wide range of radio frequencies, Auron’s technologies are designed for more targeted disruption. The system identifies the radio channels used by a drone and can directly interfere with the aircraft’s control link.
This approach may reduce collateral interference with other radio systems and improve the efficiency of counter-drone measures. In addition, the technology may offer a more cost-effective alternative to using expensive interception systems against relatively inexpensive drones.
Auron Solutions operates in the Defense Tech segment, which is expanding rapidly amid growing demand for systems capable of detecting and neutralizing unmanned aerial vehicles. The war in Ukraine has become one of the key sources of practical experience in the use of drones and electronic warfare systems, accelerating the development of relevant technologies and the emergence of new companies in the sector.
For Auron Solutions, participation by U.S. investors may be important not only in terms of raising capital but also for further expansion into international markets. In particular, interest in the company’s technologies from Chevron Technology Ventures reflects the growing range of investors evaluating Ukrainian defense technology developments.
