Ukraine may receive USD 5.4bn from IMF in 2017

IMF will channel USD 1.3bn in 2016 and almost USD 5.4bn in 2017, if the economic program on reforms is successfully implemented in Ukraine

The funding may be provided on a quarterly basis, subject to certain performance criteria, the IMF report reads. It is expected that the largest amount of the tranche Ukraine will be able to receive in Q1/2017, that is more than USD 2bn.

Additionaly to disbursements on USD 1bn Eurobond placements upon the US government guaruntees, Ukraine can receive additional USD 600ml in 2016. At this, Swiss National Bank is ready to provide USD 100mln of a macro stability aid for the National Bank of Ukraine.

The financing is subject to EFF program execution, as well as other terms and conditions. In positive case scenario, Ukraine may receive additional help from different foreign donors, as follows: USD 3.3bn as of end-2016, USD 2.5bn in 2017, and USD 2.1bn in 2018.
