Today, the State Budget of Ukraine received EUR 4.2 billion from the European Union. The tranche consists of concessional financing of EUR 2.7 billion and a grant of EUR 1.5 billion. The funds are part of the EU's macro-financial assistance under the Ukraine Facility.
The funding will be used to support priority social and humanitarian expenditures of the State Budget.
"Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the total amount of direct budget support from the EU has reached EUR 38 billion, the largest financial assistance among donors.
The implementation of the Ukraine Facility provides for systematic and predictable financing based on the implementation of the indicators set out in the Ukraine Plan, which enables the Government of Ukraine to plan and manage public finances more effectively. We are grateful to our European partners for their extremely important role in ensuring the macro-financial stability of the country," said Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko.
Thus, the total amount of financing attracted from the EU in 2024 is more than EUR 12 billion. Ukraine can receive the next tranche by the end of this year, provided that all indicators are met by the end of the third quarter.
