Under the HOME project, the funds will be used to finance housing certificates as a direct assistance mechanism that will allow citizens to receive compensation for housing destroyed as a result of hostilities and russian terrorist attacks. The main final beneficiaries are soldiers, people with disabilities and multi-child families.
The joint project with the CEB will finance compensation for more than 2,000 housing certificates, which will allow about 5,700 Ukrainians to receive compensation for destroyed housing. The project is being implemented as part of the eVidnovlennya service all over Ukraine.
“The implementation of the HOME project will help the affected citizens return to their normal lives as soon as possible. Ukraine has been a member of the Council of Europe Development Bank for more than a year - since June 2023. In such a short period of cooperation, we have managed to develop a number of important initiatives in the areas of recovery and healthcare. Ukraine's cooperation with the Bank is a valuable contribution to the sustainable social development and recovery of the country,” said Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Olga Zykova.
On June 11, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2024), Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko and the Governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank Carlo Monticelli signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with a EUR 100 million loan under the "HOME: Compensation for Destroyed Housing" project.
