Ukrainian defense-tech startup NORDA Dynamics secures $1M investment

Ukrainian company NORDA Dynamics, specializing in autonomous control systems for drones, has raised $1 million in a funding round led by the Swedish investment firm Varangians, established in 2025.

The round also saw participation from Ukrainian funds Angel One and MITS Capital, the angel syndicate United Angels Network, and U.S.-based Unpopular VC. NORDA Dynamics plans to allocate the funds toward expanding production and its engineering team, as well as developing new products to further enhance UAV autonomy.

“For us, this is not just about capital, but a validation that our battlefield-proven technologies have a global future across European and overseas markets. We were among the first in the world to scale autonomy modules to tens of thousands of combat deployments in modern warfare, and now we are ready for the next stage. I am grateful to our investors for their trust and to the NORDA team for their fantastic work. We are moving forward with our mission in mind,”
— said Nazar Bihun, co-founder and CEO of NORDA Dynamics.

Since its founding in 2024, the NORDA Dynamics team of founders and engineers has focused on developing UAV autonomy systems capable of operating without GPS, traditional communication channels, and even under intense electronic warfare. According to the company, demand for such solutions has grown exponentially since 2022, as modern combat increasingly takes place in environments with no connectivity or navigation.

Among its flagship products is the universal autonomy module Underdog.

“Today, it is the most widely deployed UAV auto-guidance system in active combat zones,”
said Nazar Bihun. Due to its efficiency, affordability, and easy integration, the system is ideally suited for mass battlefield deployment.

Another key product is the StableLink stabilization system, which ensures precise UAV positioning in terms of azimuth and altitude, even under heavy electronic warfare and without GPS. StableLink is already being actively used in autonomous missions by relay and minelaying drones, ensuring stable and accurate combat operations.

“We have met many strong defense-tech companies in Ukraine, and NORDA’s team is among the very best. They are addressing one of the most critical challenges on the battlefield and have the expertise to continue developing innovative solutions,”
— noted Pär Lager, CEO of Varangians.

Lager, together with Andreas Flodström and Jonas Rydin, launched Varangians in Sweden with backing from one of the country’s leading family offices. The firm’s strategic goals include strengthening the development of defense technologies for Ukraine’s protection, supporting Europe’s rearmament through Ukrainian innovation, and creating long-term economic value for stakeholders.

“We have been impressed by NORDA Dynamics’ rapid progress since graduating from our accelerator program. The founders have a technological vision that supports Ukraine’s victory in the drone war, and we are proud to back them,”
— said Denys Hurak, co-founder and CIO/COO of MITS Capital.

NORDA Dynamics engineers design solutions that enable UAVs to complete missions autonomously, even in contested or isolated environments. The company’s ecosystem of products is already integrated with dozens of Ukrainian drone manufacturers and has been battle-tested in real combat conditions.

The newly secured capital will be directed toward accelerated R&D development, scaling the engineering team, expanding testing programs, and advancing the company’s product ecosystem.

The NORDA Dynamics team also expressed gratitude for the support of the Brave1 defense-tech cluster, the Ukrainian military-tech association Iron Cluster, and the Lviv City Council, all of which help create a favorable environment for defense innovation.
