Ukrposhta to Deploy Modular Branches with €600,000 EBRD Grant

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has allocated €600,000 to support modular post offices in Ukraine’s war-affected regions

Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smilyansky announced that the EBRD will provide a €600,000 grant to fund the installation of modular postal units across areas where fixed infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed due to ongoing hostilities.

These modular branches are designed to restore critical services in hard-to-reach and frontline communities, ensuring uninterrupted postal and financial operations even in the most severely impacted locations.

Each unit will be equipped with power generators, Starlink internet, and accessible facilities for people with disabilities. Services to be offered include:

  • Domestic and international parcel delivery
  • Access to essential medications
  • Money transfer processing
  • Pension distribution
  • Utility bill payments
  • Newspaper subscriptions
  • Cash top-ups for bank cards

Smilyansky emphasized that these modular post offices will serve as “islands of stability” for thousands of Ukrainians, helping to maintain essential daily life amid disruption.
