A new Pokrovka wind power plant with a total capacity of 105.4 MW is planned for construction in Kirovohrad Region. The project is being implemented by Kyiv-based Sunwind 3 LLC, which has launched the environmental impact assessment procedure required to obtain permits for the construction of the facility.
According to materials published on the website of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, the wind farm will be located within the Nadlak village and Novoarkhanhelsk settlement communities of Holovanivsk district. In May 2026, Nadlak Village Council and Sunwind 3 LLC signed a memorandum of cooperation providing for the implementation of the project.
The project provides for the construction of 17 wind turbines with a capacity of 6.2 MW each, bringing the total installed capacity to 105.4 MW. The electricity generated will be transmitted to an electrical substation and from there to Ukraine’s main power grid.
Modern Vestas V162-6.2 wind turbines are planned as the main equipment. The tower height of each unit will be 125 meters, while the rotor diameter will be up to 162 meters. Approximately 0.7 ha of land will be required for each turbine, excluding the area needed for technological roads, cable lines and other related infrastructure.
At the same time, the project’s technical documentation contains an inconsistency: one section refers to the use of 14 Vestas V162-6.2 turbines, while the general project description provides for the construction of 17 wind turbines with a total capacity of 105.4 MW. The reasons for this discrepancy in the documents have not yet been clarified.
The operational life of the wind farm is estimated at at least 25 years. After the plant is commissioned, it will be serviced by a staff of up to six employees.
The project requires changing the designated use of land plots for the placement of energy infrastructure facilities. The project falls under the second category of activities subject to a mandatory environmental impact assessment procedure, after completion of which the company will be able to proceed to the next stages of construction preparation.
