Agricultural company in Cherkasy region launches its own feed mill with grain storage facilities

KMZ Industries has built a feed mill for an agricultural enterprise in Cherkasy region, with storage capacity of more than 9,000 tons and conveying equipment rated at 100 t/h

In Cherkasy region, an agricultural enterprise specializing in livestock farming has completed the construction of its own feed mill. The project was implemented by Ukrainian company KMZ Industries, which supplied and installed a a full set of grain storage and conveying equipment for the new production facility.

According to the company, the launch of the facility will allow the farm to move toward deeper vertical integration and gain full control over feed quality for its livestock operations. The new mill will mainly process the company’s own raw materials, which is expected to reduce dependence on external suppliers and improve production efficiency.

As part of the project, the facility was equipped with three flat-bottom silos with a capacity of 3,075 tons each for storing grain and feed components. It also includes three hopper-bottom silos with a volume of 80 cubic meters each and three operational hopper-bottom silos of 81 cubic meters each for production processes and short-term raw material storage.

To ensure uninterrupted operation, the complex has been fitted with conveying equipment with a capacity of 100 tons per hour, as well as a full set of gravity-flow equipment for moving raw materials throughout the production cycle.

In addition to the technological component, KMZ Industries developed a logistics scheme for vehicle movement across the plant site. This makes it possible to optimize truck access, reduce unloading time, and speed up the delivery of raw materials to the production lines.

According to KMZ Industries regional manager Yurii Musiienko, full-cycle projects are becoming a key development direction for modern agribusiness in Ukraine, as they allow companies to control costs, feed quality, and supply stability amid rising logistics and raw material expenses.
