AST, a company within the Akris Agro agricultural group, has completed the construction of a new grain elevator in Ukraine’s Lviv region with a total storage capacity of up to 70,000 tonnes of grain. The project was announced by the company’s press service.
The new elevator officially began operations on March 16. Grain storage at the facility combines conventional warehouse space with modern storage technologies using specialized grain bags, allowing for more flexible management of storage volumes and crop conditions.
The elevator infrastructure is equipped with high-capacity machinery, including a grain dryer from U.S. manufacturer Sukup, capable of processing up to 1,000 tonnes of grain per day. At the same time, a significant share of the equipment installed at the facility is of Ukrainian origin. In particular, solutions from Dnipro-based company Elevate were used, underscoring support for domestic manufacturers and technologies.
The company stated that the launch of such a facility under current challenging conditions is important not only for the business, but for the country as a whole. The construction and commissioning of the elevator contributes to the creation of new jobs, generates additional tax revenues for budgets at various levels, and also stimulates the development of local infrastructure and the regional economy.
