VI2-Partners acquired 25% shares of Furshet supermarket network from Auchan Retail Ukraine. The decision was followed by the general strategy of Auchan Retail Ukraine to develop its multi-format network under one brand of Auchan. The parties do not disclose the value of the deal. Auchan will also make rebranding of the recently purchased megastores of Karavan.
Auchan bought 20% stake of Furshet back in 2007 in order to ease its market entry in Ukraine. As of October 12, 2017 Furshet supermarket network comprised 81 stores in all the regions of Ukraine.
To remind, Auchan purchased Karavan shopping centers recently and started opening its Auchan stores soon after in September this year.
