As reported on the AMCU website, the agency issued a permit to Trident Geoinvest Ukraine LLC, which belongs to one of the owners of the ATB network, Gennady Butkevich, to gain control over PJSC NPK Ukrnaftinvest.
Earlier, Regal Petroleum was interested in the purchase of Ukrnaftinvest owned by Lydia Chernysh and Leonid Kozachenk. The majority owner of Regal Petroleum is Vadim Novinsky. At that time, Regal noted that after the assessment of proved reserves (1P) reserves by an independent expert, up to $30 million will be paid to UNI owners, another $9 million will be paid after the closing of the transaction, another $1 million - subject to certain conditions. A 25% stake in UNI will be transferred to Regal as security for payment of up to $30 million.
However, last spring, Regal Petroleum reported that the parties failed to reach a final agreement on the purchase of Ukrnaftinvest.
