"This will be a railway terminal that will improve the prompt transportation and handling of cargo, and the export and import potential of our country at the same time. It will help connect the central regions of the country with the ports of greater Odesa and with the EU countries through the Mostyska container terminal," Deputy Vinnytsia Mayor Andriy Ocheretny said.
According to him, the first stage of construction began in the spring of 2024. At the first stage of the dry port construction, the railway infrastructure and the first container platform with a capacity of about 30,000 TEU/year will be built. Meanwhile, 2,000 TEU is the capacity of the container train, which will also be built at this stage.
At present, part of the railway tracks, a weighing system, as well as a warehouse of 3,500 square meters are already ready.
The dry port is planned to be put into operation in the third quarter of this year. About 50 people will be employed here, and machine operators are currently being sought. In total, they plan to create 100 jobs, the deputy mayor of Vinnytsia summarized.
