The European Commission has allocated €20 million to support Ukrainian high-tech startups and small and medium-sized enterprises. The funding is intended for 41 companies selected under a European Innovation Council (EIC) competition, with the aim of helping them turn innovative ideas into real-world solutions.
Each selected company will receive between €300,000 and €500,000, as well as access to the EIC Accelerator, a key funding program that offers larger grants and equity investment through the EIC Fund.
Ekaterina Zaharieva, the European Commissioner responsible for startups, research and innovation, emphasized that this support will help integrate Ukrainian companies into the European innovation ecosystem and strengthen Ukraine’s long-term economic ties with the EU.
In this way, the EU is providing not only direct financial support (€20 million), but also creating opportunities for Ukrainian startups to secure strategic investment, accelerate technology development, and participate in the international innovation environment.
