Horizon Capital Exits Shareholding in Ukrainian Confectionery Producer Yarych

Investment firm Horizon Capital has exited the capital of Ukrainian confectionery producer Yarych after nearly eight years as a shareholder, completing its investment cycle in the company

Investment firm Horizon Capital has exited the shareholder structure of Ukrainian confectionery producer Yarych, completing an investment cycle that lasted nearly eight years. The investor’s exit was confirmed to Forbes Ukraine by the company’s press service.

Horizon Capital said that over seven years of cooperation, Yarych significantly expanded the scale of its business, increased production capacity, broadened its export footprint and preserved jobs. The investment firm also noted that the company’s recent financing from Norwegian state-owned investment fund Norfund confirms Yarych’s strong investment appeal and creates additional opportunities for further production modernization and business development.

Yarych is one of Ukraine’s largest producers of biscuits and other confectionery products. The company manufactures products under the Maria, Petit Beurre, The Crackers and several other brands. Following the entry into force of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Ukraine and the European Union, the company became one of the first Ukrainian manufacturers to begin exporting biscuits to the European market.

The factory’s history dates back to 1986, when it operated as part of the Lviv-based Svitoch confectionery factory. In 2000, the asset came under Nestlé’s control, while in 2008, following its acquisition by a Ukrainian entrepreneur, the Yarych brand began to develop independently. In 2018, Horizon Capital acquired a 33% stake in the company, becoming a minority shareholder.

During Horizon Capital’s period as a shareholder, the company significantly strengthened its financial performance. According to YouControl, revenue of Yarych Confectionery Factory LLC increased by 11.7% year-on-year in 2025 to UAH 1.09 billion. In the first quarter of 2026, the company generated UAH 305.9 million in revenue, up 24.9% compared with the same period of the previous year.

The deal with Norfund provided further evidence of international investor interest in the company. In early July 2026, the Norwegian investment fund announced a $10 million investment in Yarych. The funds are expected to be used to modernize the factory’s production facilities in Lviv Region and launch a new pretzel production line.

Horizon Capital specializes in private equity investments in companies across Central and Eastern Europe. The investment firm manages approximately $1.8 billion in assets. The value of Horizon Capital’s exit from Yarych and the company’s new shareholder structure have not been disclosed.
