Ukrainian EdTech company Headway Inc has secured new investment from Horizon Capital, which manages approximately $1.8 billion in assets. The deal became part of an extended Series A financing round that had previously been led in July 2025 by Bullhound Capital, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst. The funding was announced by company founder Anton Pavlovskyi during the Forbes AI Day event, although the exact amount of the investment was not disclosed.
The company plans to allocate the raised funds to several key areas of development. First and foremost, this includes the creation of an AI-native product, meaning solutions built from the ground up around artificial intelligence. In addition, Headway Inc plans to actively scale its products in international markets and is preparing to open an office in the United States, signaling a focus on global expansion.
Horizon Capital highly rated the company’s growth trajectory. According to the fund’s Senior Partner Vasyl Tofan, in a relatively short period and under challenging conditions, Headway has evolved from a small startup into a full-fledged ecosystem of products that are reshaping the learning experience for millions of users.
The company’s origins are rooted in the Ukrainian IT ecosystem Genesis, where Headway initially developed as a product offering short book summaries. Over time, the business began to expand: in 2021, the Impulse app joined the portfolio, focused on training cognitive skills such as memory, attention, and concentration. Less than a year ago, the company launched another product, Nibble, which offers short educational lessons across various topics, including art, mathematics, and personal finance. In addition to its existing live services, the company is developing two more new applications.
As of April 2026, the total number of downloads across all Headway Inc products had reached approximately 170 million, underscoring the scale of its user base. At the same time, the company does not disclose its current financial metrics.
Also in April, Headway completed a rebranding, updating its logo, positioning, and slightly adjusting its name to Headway Inc, now used in abbreviated form as HI. This reflects the company’s transition to a broader international strategy and its development as a technology platform.
