Viktor i K, operating under the Korolivskyi Smak brand, plans to significantly expand and modernize its processing capacities in the Kirovohrad region. The project includes the reconstruction of sunflower and rapeseed processing facilities, increased soybean processing capacity, and the construction of its own biomass-fired combined heat and power plant with an electrical capacity of up to 8.5 MW.
The company’s plans were published in notices of planned activities in Ukraine’s Unified Environmental Impact Assessment Register.
One of the key projects will be the reconstruction of the oil-pressing facility, designed to process up to 600 tonnes of sunflower seeds per day. The company intends to dismantle the existing facility and build a new production unit equipped with modern processing equipment.
In particular, the project provides for the installation of a 5.63 cubic metre buffer silo, sunflower preparation and processing equipment, sorting systems, roasting units and presses. The company therefore expects to upgrade its production technology and improve the efficiency of oilseed processing.
A separate modernization project concerns rapeseed processing. Viktor i K plans to reconstruct the preparation facility and equip a pressing unit capable of processing up to 1,000 tonnes of rapeseed raw material per day.
Following implementation of the project, the enterprise will also be able to process up to 700 tonnes of prepared soybeans per day. The company plans to use its existing elevator silos for raw material storage, allowing it to utilize current infrastructure without constructing a separate storage complex.
The project parameters envisage annual production of approximately 141,900 tonnes of crude rapeseed oil and 178,200 tonnes of rapeseed meal following modernization.
Another component of the investment program will be the construction of an in-house biomass-fired combined heat and power plant with an electrical capacity of up to 8.5 MW. The electricity generated will be used exclusively for the company’s own needs, with no plans to supply power to the external grid.
The CHP plant is expected to include two steam boilers and a Siemens SST 200 turbine generator. The planned fuel mix includes by-products and waste from agricultural processing, including sunflower, soybean and buckwheat husks, pellets made from sunflower and soybean husks, as well as various mixtures of husks and agricultural processing residues.
The project also provides for a dedicated fuel storage facility with four silos.
