MHP to Acquire Agrol Processing Facilities for at Least $5 Million

MHP, owned by Yuriy Kosiuk, is acquiring poultry slaughtering and processing facilities from Ukrainian chicken producer Agrol in a deal valued at no less than $5 million

MHP, the agribusiness holding controlled by Yuriy Kosiuk, is purchasing a poultry slaughtering and processing plant from chicken producer Agrol. According to Forbes Ukraine, the asset is valued at a minimum of $5 million. In January 2026, MHP submitted documents to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine seeking approval for the concentration of part of the assets.

MHP’s press service clarified that the transaction covers only the processing facilities and does not involve the acquisition of Agrol as a whole. Poultry farms and live bird production assets will remain with the current owner, allowing Agrol to continue operating independently and competing with MHP.

Agrol, owned by Yuliia Shopska, has been operating since 2000 and owns two poultry farms in the Lviv region. The company’s revenue in 2024 amounted to UAH 1.8 billion. The asset subject to the transaction is a modern processing facility built between 2018 and 2021, equipped with slaughtering, cutting, packaging, and freezing lines.

Industry experts attribute MHP’s interest in the asset to its favorable logistics location close to the European Union, particularly the Polish market, as well as the opportunity to improve production efficiency and leverage Agrol’s established distribution channels. MHP states that it views the deal as an investment in business resilience and a contribution to Ukraine’s food security.
