An undisclosed investment banker, willing to remain anonymous, revealed that ATB plans to buy 17 of 27 stores belonging to Barvinok retail chain. The value of the deal stands at EUR 5-6mln. The deal comprises purchase of buildings, equipment and inventories. Barvinok operates in Western Ukraine mainly; hence ATB is aiming at entering the Western Ukraine. As of present, ATB opened three outlets in the largest cities of Lviv region, that is Lviv, Drohobych and Stryj. A year ago Evrotek associated with Mikhael Veselskiy bought out the retail chain of Barvinok from Polish Abris Capital for EUR 10-12mln. Prior to that, Abris Capital purchased the retail chain of Barvinok from Lviv based Intermarket in 2008. Back then, the retail chain operated 17 stores in Western Ukraine.
