The Netherlands to Invest €482 Million in Ukraine’s Defense Industry Under New Partnership

The Netherlands is investing €482 million in Ukraine’s defense-industrial sector and launching a new partnership focused on joint production, including drones

The Netherlands is stepping up its military and industrial support for Ukraine by signing a new partnership agreement that provides for substantial investment in the country’s defense-industrial complex. Prime Minister Rob Jetten announced that €482 million will be allocated under the agreement to support the development of the defense sector.

According to him, the cooperation will be mutually beneficial not only for Ukraine, but also for the Netherlands and Europe as a whole, as it is aimed at strengthening shared security. One of the key priorities will be the development of Ukrainian defense projects, including drone production, which is expected to scale up rapidly. This is seen as a critically important element in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities amid ongoing Russian aggression.

Jetten stressed that the Netherlands intends to continue supporting Ukraine, including through the joint development of the defense industry. This involves not only financial assistance, but also deeper cooperation between the two countries in the defense-industrial sphere.

In addition to the investment, the Netherlands will also transfer a military vessel to Ukraine. The ship is currently located in the port of Vlissingen and is expected to be incorporated into the Ukrainian fleet. According to the prime minister, such steps are aimed not only at supporting Ukraine, but also at enhancing the security of Europe as a whole.
