Ukrainian technology companies The Fourth Law and Odd Systems have joined forces to establish thermal imaging sensor production in Europe and the United States. The initiative aims to develop manufacturing capacity for components used in thermal imaging systems, including applications in the defense sector.
The companies have launched a joint initiative called Project Foundation, which aims to establish mass production of sensors outside Ukraine. The first manufacturing facilities are expected to become operational in 2027.
Thermal imaging sensors are used in surveillance, object detection and navigation systems operating in low-visibility conditions. These components play an important role in the development of military optics, unmanned systems and other technologies used in the defense industry.
For Ukraine’s defense technology sector, the project creates opportunities to expand the production of critical components and strengthen the international presence of Ukrainian technology developers. Manufacturing facilities in Europe and the United States could also help scale production to meet demand for thermal imaging technologies.
The companies have not yet disclosed the project's financial parameters or the amount of investment involved.
