Ukrainian Concrete Plant Manufacturer Karmel to Build a New $10 Million Facility in Khmelnytskyi

Karmel is investing $10 million in the construction of a new plant in Khmelnytskyi, which will allow the company to triple its production capacity and expand its equipment range

Karmel, a company specializing in the production of concrete batching plants and related equipment, is launching a large-scale investment project in Khmelnytskyi. The company has acquired a land plot on the outskirts of the city, where it plans to build a new production complex with an investment volume of about $10 million.

According to Dmytro Kysylevskyi, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, the future plant will cover 18,000 square metres, which is twice the size of the company’s existing facility in Khmelnytskyi. Preparatory earthworks have already begun on the site, indicating that the project has moved into the implementation stage.

The construction of the new complex will allow the company to significantly expand its production capacity, with output of concrete plants expected to triple. In addition to expanding its current manufacturing operations, Karmel plans to launch new product lines, including self-propelled concrete plants and waste processing equipment, which will broaden the company’s product portfolio.

The decision to expand the business is linked to rising demand both in the Ukrainian domestic market and abroad, particularly in the United States. The company currently produces around 40 concrete plants per year, with approximately 30% of output exported. In addition to concrete batching plants, the company manufactures a broad range of equipment, including stationary and mobile concrete mixers, silos, cement dispensers, aggregate bins, water towers, and gantry cranes. Over the years, more than 600 plants manufactured by Karmel have been commissioned in Ukraine.

An additional growth factor for the sector is state support. In particular, equipment for concrete plants is eligible under a programme that compensates 15% of the cost of Ukrainian-made machinery. Part of the company’s products is also purchased with the support of state processing grants of up to UAH 8 million. Karmel is also considering the possibility of having some of its products, including silos, included in the programme that compensates 25% of the cost of agricultural machinery.

The average localization level of Karmel’s products is around 70%, underscoring the significant Ukrainian component in its manufacturing. The implementation of the new project will allow the company to strengthen its market position, increase exports, and expand its participation in state industrial support programmes.
