UPI-Energy to Build Biomethane Complex in Vinnytsia Region with Capacity of up to 1,500 Nm³ per Hour

Public consultations have started in Vinnytsia region on a project to build a bioenergy complex for the production of biomethane and electricity. The project is planned by UPI-Energy LLC, which is part of the Ukrprominvest-Agro group associated with Ukraine’s fifth president Petro Poroshenko. This was reported by ExPro, citing the Environmental Impact Assessment register.

The project is planned to be implemented outside the village of Dzyhivka in the Yampil urban community of Mohyliv-Podilskyi district, Vinnytsia region.

The future complex will process organic waste to produce biogas, biomethane and electricity. The planned feedstock includes cattle manure, sugar beet pulp, as well as beet tops and tails.

The total volume of feedstock processing will amount to up to 200,000 tonnes per year. The installed capacity of the biogas complex is planned at up to 1,500 Nm³/h.

Annual biogas production is expected to reach up to 13 million Nm³, while electricity generation for the company’s own needs is projected at up to 9,000 MWh. The complex will operate around the clock throughout the year.

The project is expected to create 33 jobs at the enterprise.

The project owner is UPI-Energy LLC, registered in Kyiv in September 2025. The company’s main activity is listed as gas production. Its ultimate beneficial owner is Maksym Levytskyi.

The company is part of the Ukrprominvest-Agro group, which is engaged in crop farming, sugar production, dairy and meat livestock farming, as well as flour production.
