A'SPIK Group acquires Ukrainian subsidiary of British ED&F Man

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine announced that it had granted permission to Agro-Orms LLC (Starokonstantinov, Khmelnytsky region) to acquire a stake in the charter capital of Ukrainian Sugar Company LLC, which ensures an excess of 50% of the votes in the supreme management body of the company.

Agro-Orms LLC is part of the A'SPIK Group, while Ukrainian Sugar Company LLC, in turn, is a subsidiary of ED&F Man.

A'SPIK Group is engaged in the production of sugar, the cultivation of sugar beets, cereals, soybeans, corn, as well as animal husbandry. Starokonstantinovsakhar LLC and PJSC Shepetovsky Sugar Plant, which are part of the group, specialize in the processing of sugar beets, the production of sugar, molasses, and granulated beet pulp. Enterprises produce 5% of the total state volume of sugar, which allowed them to enter the TOP-5 largest sugar producers.

ED&F Man was founded in 1783 by James Man in London. It is the largest supplier of food, sugar, spices, animal feed, tropical oils, rubber, biofuels and coffee through a network of offices and agencies in 50 countries. In Ukraine, ED&F Man owns the Zaselsky sugar factory (Nikolaev region) and a subsidiary of the Ukrainian Sugar Company.
