Ukraine received $732 mln for Housing and Utilities infrastructure from the World Bank

With the use of the received funds infrastructure projects in Ukrainian housing and utilities sector are going to be implemented.

This information was released by the press office of Ministry for Regional Development, Building and Housing of Ukraine.

“Development of city infrastructure – 2” project will receive $350 mln, $300 mln of which is a loan of IBRD and $50 mln will be given by Clear technologies fund . The project is going to be implemented within 6 years – starting from 2014 and till 2020.

“Development of city infrastructure-2” includes the implementation of the list of subrojects in the sphere of water-supply, water discharge and pilot project on hard domestic waste management. All of this subprojects will be performed on 11 communal enterprises of Kyiv, Kharkov, Kirovograd, Zhytomyr, Kramatorsk, Kolomuya, Ternopol, Cherkassy and Ivano-Frankovsk.  

Ukrainian infrastructure project “ "Increase of energy efficiency in the sector of central heating of Ukraine” is financed by the IBRD, which devoted $382 mln for it. The period of implementation of this project is also 6 years.

According to Roman Chuprenko, the Minister of regional development and European integration, on June 30th the joint project “Development of city infrastructure” with the IBRD has been successfully finished. Throughout this partnership the water canals in 14 cities of Ukraine were reconstructed. The cost of the project was equal to $140 mln.
