Fund with Czech roots wants to privatize abandoned holiday camp "Prydniprovskyi" near Cherkasy city

The State Property Fund held an auction for the sale of the former "Prydniprovskyi" holiday camp in the village of Blahodatne on the opposite bank of the Dnipro from Cherkasy. Its winner, the Regi Base Ukraine charity fund, offered UAH 10 million ($271,000).

The camp is in poor condition, its buildings have not been used for a long time. They need major repairs or complete reconstruction.

But the facility has 8.8 hectares of recreational land in the middle of the forest.

According to the terms of privatization, the buyer must maintain the activity profile of the facility as a health facility for at least five years.

Charity fund Regi Base Ukraine was founded in 2019 by the Czech charity fund REGI Base I and four heads of the international non-governmental organization International Diplomatic Mission: Oleksandr Volkov, Anzhela Antonova, Volodymyr Kosmyna, and Vitaliy Pron.

According to the website of this organization, the main goal of the Regi Base Ukraine is the comprehensive rehabilitation of Ukrainian veterans and the construction of a modern robotic rehabilitation center.

"This will be a unique medical institution not only in Europe, but also in the world," the message reads.

The website of the Czech fund REGI Base I states that it was founded in 2011 by a Czech citizen, Hynek Čech, to help war veterans. Later, the foundation extended its assistance to military, police, firemen, rescuers, and their family members.
