A new road worth approximately UAH 6.6 billion is planned to be built in the Carpathian Mountains to provide an additional convenient access route to the Bukovel ski resort. On December 3, the Infrastructure Recovery and Development Service in Ivano-Frankivsk region announced a tender for design documentation for the road, which will connect the village of Bystrytsia with the village of Yablunytsia via the village of Polyanytsia, where the resort itself is located. The information was published on the Prozorro platform.

The project envisages the creation of a new 28.6-kilometer route. Its exact configuration, parameters, and technical specifications will be defined by the future contractor selected through the tender process. The road is expected to provide Bukovel with an additional access point from the northwest and significantly shorten the travel distance from Ivano-Frankivsk.

Preparations for the large-scale development are already underway. On November 26, the Infrastructure Recovery Service signed a UAH 2.1 billion contract with PBS LLC for the capital repair of the existing state road between Ivano-Frankivsk and Nadvirna. The repair will cover a 23-kilometer section leading to Bystrytsia, marking the first step toward establishing the new route.

In addition, a full reconstruction of Bukovel’s central area is scheduled to begin in 2026, forming part of a broader strategy for the resort’s development and expansion of its surrounding infrastructure.
